"Do your little bit of good where you are, it’s these little bits of good put together that overwhelm the world," Desmond Tutu.
It is with deep respect that we bid farewell to the man whose integrity, compassion and moral leadership have been crucial to a more just and equal world.
Desmond Tutu
7 October 1931 - 26 December 2021
He gave voice to hope, compassion and the fight for human rights, for which he received the Nobel Peace Prize in 1984. After retirement he devoted his life to the Desmond & Leah Tutu Legacy Foundation, and to The Elders, a group of Nobel Peace Laureates and statespersons committed to peace-making. Both organisations received funding by the Postcode Lotteries.
Since 2012, Archbishop Desmond Tutu has been international ambassador for the Postcode Lotteries. We are very grateful for his inspiration and wisdom.
His work will live on in many people and organisations working for a better world.
