Blackburn players to share £3 million

Christmas has come early for a huge number of Blackburn residents who have won December's Postcode Millions prize.

The winning postcode sector, BB2 4, was announced during a Facebook Live. All those who play with a ticket in the sector will claim a share of the £3 million prize pot.

A total of 1,701 BB2 4 players have won the cash and will receive £776 for every ticket that they play with.

The full winning postcode will be announced on Saturday 21st December - everyone playing with this postcode will scoop the biggest share of the prize. 

People's Postcode Lottery ambassadors Matt Johnson and Judie McCourt will be in Blackburn on Saturday to visit some of the lucky winners.

Matt revealed the winning postcode sector alongside fellow ambassador Danyl Johnson.

Matt said: "I can't wait to get to Blackburn to make some people very happy. It's incredible that so many neighbours are sharing in this win together - there's certainly going to be some extra special Christmases in town this year."

It's not the first time Blackburn has won big with People's Postcode Lottery. In 2016, the exact same postcode sector was drawn for the Postcode Millions.

With People's Postcode Lottery, charities win too. One local good cause that has received support is Opportunity Sports Foundation which was awarded £6,000 to provide young homeless people with vital services to gain housing and employment.

This draw is being held on behalf of Postcode Green Trust which funds charities that are protecting wildlife and promoting conservation.
